abstract A miniaturized optical spectrometer includes an input member, an image capture element, a miniaturized diffraction optical grating, an optical grating receiving slot, a soft pad and a fixing plate. Preferably, miniature optical spectrometer includes a waveguide device, and the optical grating receiving slot can be positioned in the space defined by an opening of the waveguide. The input member receives an optical signal. The optical signal proceeds in the waveguide device. The miniaturized diffraction optical grating separates the optical signal which is transmitted in the waveguide device to a plurality of spectral components, and makes these spectral components be projected to the image capture element. The soft pad is stacked on the miniaturied diffraction optical grating, and both of them are disposed in the optical grating receiving slot. The fixing plate is disposed on the waveguide device to apply a compressing force on the soft pad to make the miniaturied diffraction optical grating be fixed in the optical grating receiving slot.
