A liquid crystal sealing agent is provided, which is hard to dissolve in liquid crystal, can be cured in short time at low temperature, and is excellent in display reliability. The liquid crystal sealing agent of this invention includes: a curing resin containing epoxy resin, thermal curing agent, 0.1 to less than 10 parts by weight of curing catalyst relative to 100 parts by weight of the curing resin; the curing catalyst is an imidazole curing catalyst represented by formula (1): [in formula (1), R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group, lower hydroxyalkyl group, phenyl group or benzyl group; R3 and R4 are independently hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group or lower hydroxyalkyl group; at least one of R1 to R4 is lower hydroxyalkyl group.] |
