abstract |
Provided are a novel alicyclic epoxy resin and a curable resin composition which produce a cured product exhibiting excellent heat resistance, optical characteristics (especially transparency and light resistance), and toughness. The epoxy resin composition comprises a diolefin compound (trans form) represented by formula (1) and a diolefin compound (cis form) represented by formula (2), uses a diolefin compound in which the ratio of the aforementioned diolefin compounds is 100:0 to 25:75 (trans form: cis form) as the starting material, and is obtained by epoxidizing said starting material. In formula (1), the plurality of Rs independently represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl group. In formula (2) the plurality of Rs independently represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl group. |
