A method for making a carbon nanotube composite material includes the following steps: providing a carbon nanotube structure, the carbon nanotube structure including a plurality of carbon nanotubes; providing a reaction solution, the reaction solution composing of at least one kind of metal compound, and adopting the reaction solution immerge into the carbon nanotube structure; and heating the carbon nanotube structure with immerged the reaction solution, to make the at least one kind of metal compound decompose, under the non-oxygen ambience. The carbon nanotube composite material made by the above method has an excellent tensile strength and Young's modulue. |
