abstract |
Disclosed is an electrode active material which is composed of a silicon-containing carbon-based composite material that is obtained as follows: in a uniform phase that is composed of at least (A) a crosslinkable composition that contains a silicon-containing compound having a crosslinkable group, and (B) a liquid or melt that is not involved in the crosslinking reaction of the crosslinkable composition, the component (A) is crosslinked, thereby forming silicon-containing crosslinked particles that are phase-separated from the component (B) or a dispersion wherein the silicon-containing crosslinked particles are dispersed in the component (B); and then, the silicon-containing crosslinked particles or the dispersion is fired in an inert gas or in a vacuum at 300-1,500 DEG C, thereby obtaining the silicon-containing carbon-based composite material. Also disclosed are an electrode which contains the electrode active material, and an electricity storage device which comprises the electrode. The electrode active material is particularly suitable for an electrode of a lithium secondary battery, and has characteristics such as high reversible capacity, stable charge/discharge cycle characteristics and low potential loss at the time when lithium is released. |
