abstract |
Disclosed is a light-emitting element having excellent transparency, light resistance, heat resistance and adhesion, which is able to be produced with a small number of steps. Specifically disclosed is a light-emitting element which comprises a supporting substrate (9), a semiconductor layer (2) that is formed above the supporting substrate (9), an electrode (13) that is formed on the upper surface of the semiconductor layer (2), and a protective layer (8) that is formed so as to cover at least the lateral surface of the semiconductor layer (2). The protective layer (8) is composed of a cured product of a composition for forming a protective layer, said composition containing (A) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of hydrolyzable silane compounds represented by the following general formula (1): (R1)pSi(X)4-p (wherein R1 represents a non-hydrolyzable organic group having 1-12 carbon atoms; X represents a hydrolyzable group; and p represents an integer of 0-3), hydrolysis products thereof and condensation products thereof. |
