titleOfInvention | Display device and electronic device having the same |
abstract | An active matrix display device capable of compensating leakage current without the reduction of the aperture ratio is disclosed. The display device (10) has a plurality of pixels in a matrix arrangement and a backlight (21) located at the backside thereof. Each pixel includes a liquid crystal (LC) element (32), a driving controller (34) for controlling the driving of the LC element, and a storage capacitor (36) for storing image data provided to the LC display element. The display device includes a luminance detector (50) for detecting the luminance of the backlight (21) and a voltage supplier (26) for applying a voltage, corresponding to the detected luminance, on a node of the storage capacitor opposite to the node connecting to the LC element during a sustain period of the image data stored in the storage capacitor. |
