titleOfInvention | Phase type diffraction element, process for producing it, and camera apparatus |
abstract | The present invention relates to a phase type diffraction element which comprises a transparency substrate (2) having surface and back side, and a solidifying liquid crystal layer (3) disposed on the surface of the said transparency substrate and is formed of a continuous film having at least liquid crystal. The said solidifying liquid crystal layer is composed of periodically formed first area (3a), second area (3i), and third area (3m) between thereof. The said first area is optically isotropy, the said second area is anisotropy, and the third is not isotropy but the alignment degree of the mesogen of the said liquid crystal compound is lower than that of the said first area. The in-plane mean refractive index of the said second area ni and the in-plane mean refractive index of the said first area na are different. The third area has a value nm between the said ni and na as the mean refractive index. |
