titleOfInvention | Method for producing glycolide |
abstract | A method for producing glycolide which comprises: a step (1) wherein a mixture comprising a glycolic acid oligomer and a high-boiling polar organic solvent is refluxed by heating under atmospheric or reduced pressure, while conducting the whole refluxing treatment within a reflux time of 0.1 to 20 hours under such conditions that substantially the total amount of the distillate distilled from the reflux system containing said mixture is refluxed to the reflux system; a step (2) wherein depolymerization is conducted by heating the mixture after the completion of the total refluxing treatment, or a mixture that is prepared by adding said high-boiling polar organic solvent to the glycolic acid oligomer component collected from the mixture after the completion of the total refluxing treatment; and a step (3) wherein glycolide is recovered from the co-distillate. |
