titleOfInvention | Organic electroluminescent device, display device, and lighting device |
abstract | Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent element (10) which is characterized by comprising: a positive electrode layer (12); a negative electrode layer (14); a dielectric layer (13) formed between the positive electrode layer (12) and the negative electrode layer (14); a recessed portion (16) which is so formed as to penetrate at least the dielectric layer (13); and a light-emitting portion (17) which is formed in contact with the inner surface of the recessed portion (16) and emits light when supplied with an electric current. The organic electroluminescent element (10) is also characterized in that the shape of the recessed portion (16) on the light taking-out side has a peripheral length longer than the circumferential length of the smallest circle which contains the shape. Consequently, a charge concentration is not likely to occur in the light-emitting portion, and the light-emitting surface area can be effectively utilized. |
