abstract A novel benzoxazine resin having the following formula is disclosed: wherein n is 1, 2 or 3; R is selected from the group consisting of C1-C6 alkyl, C3-C7 cyclic alkyl, CF3 and R1-R4 are independently selected from the group consisting of H, -OH, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6alkoxy, -CF3, OCF3, phenyl, halogen, phenoxy, and C3-C7 cyclic alkyl, -CF3, -OCF3 and halogen; Q is one bond, or When n=2, W is selected from the group consisting of When n=3, W is selected from the group consisting of or When n=1 and Q is one bond, W is T is selected from the group consisting of H, C1-C6alkyl, -OH, C1-C6alkoxy, -NH2, -COOH, -CF3, phenyl, halogen, phenoxy and C3-C7cyclic alkyl. Y and Z are independently selected from the group consisting of H, C1-C6alkyl, C1-C6alkoxy, -CF3, phenyl, halogen, phenoxy and C3-C7cyclic alkyl. The present invention provides a novel one-pot/two-pot process for preparing benzoxazine resins and substituted benzoxazine resins by using uni-or multi- functional aromatic amines or nitrites.
