abstract This invention provides a method for applying sol-gel coating on rod body of separate type screwdriver. Its characterized comprises steps: (i) providing a sol, the foregoing sol formed by mixing and stirring a first suspension and a second suspension for a while and placed in a room temperature for a period of time to reach aging, wherein the first suspension comprises silica, barium sulfate, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, silicon resin, and water, and the second suspension comprises catalysts, silica, pearl powder, and silicon resin; (ii) spraying the obtained sol onto the rod body of the separate type screwdriver; and (iii) drying and solidifying the aforementioned sol on the rod body of the separate type screwdriver. The coating layer of this invention has features of wear resistance, heat resistance, high temperature and pressure resistance, insulation, reducing static electricity, being easily cleaned, and smoothness. In addition, this method can be performed with drying and solidification under a lower temperature.
