abstract An optical inspection system and a method for confirming and comparing samples at an early stage of solar cell inspection, comprising analyzing the irradiation inspection of a plurality of solar cell samples, capturing the chrominance of the solar cell samples and according to a standard chrominance table, obtaining a 2D chrominance data to form a chrominance area, such that the solar cell samples will have a plurality of chrominance areas; then inducing the representative chrominance area capable of representing the chrominance areas from the chrominance areas as the sample data; and then according to the matching degree between the solar cell and the representative chrominance area, classifying the solar cells. Therefore, this invention provides a color classification means meeting the automatic requirement, providing practical consumer use and being beneficial to manufacturers.
