abstract | A process for producing a transparent composite material, characterized by comprising: a first step in which a synthetic smectite having a number-average particle diameter of 10-300 nm and an aspect ratio of 10-300 is organized with a quaternary organic ammonium salt and/or a quaternary organic phosphonium salt; a second step in which the organized synthetic smectite is mixed with a curable resin to prepare a resin composition containing 10-40% by mass the synthetic smectite; a third step in which the resin composition is cured to obtain a cured object; and a fourth step in which an organic volatile matter remaining in the cured object is removed. According to this process, a transparent composite material is obtained which is flexible and has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. This composite material is reduced in outgassing at high temperatures under vacuum, as in the vapor deposition of a conductive thin film. |
