abstract |
Disclosed is (1) a vinylsulfonic acid having a double bond content of not less than 95% by weight and containing (i) not more than 1 ppm of sodium (Na) and (ii) not more than 1 ppm of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metals and the first transition metals; or (2) a vinylsulfonic acid having a double bond content of not less than 95% by weight and containing (i) not more than 100 ppb of sodium (Na) and (ii) not more than 100 ppb of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metals and the first transition metals. Also disclosed are homopolymers and copolymers of those vinylsulfonic acids, a method for producing those vinylsulfonic acids, and a thin-film distillation apparatus suitable for production of those vinylsulfonic acids. |
