titleOfInvention | Translucent solar cell |
abstract | A translucent solar cell has a transparent substrate and a first translucent electrode that is the anode. A transparent active layer, that is a substantially organic material layer, is formed on top of the anode. On top of the active layer, a second translucent electrode is formed. The second translucent electrode is the cathode. In a variation, the first translucent electrode is the cathode and the second translucent electrode the anode. The flexibility in choosing the order of the anode and cathode relative to the transparent substrate allows for an increase in processing techniques and, thus, the amount of utilizable materials to increase the power conversion efficiency of translucent solar cells. |
