Aqueous paving binder compositions and method for treating the surfaces of a pavement using the same |
abstract |
A water-based binder composition for paving, characterized by comprising a synthetic-resin emulsion containing a water-soluble or water-dispersible polyester as a protective colloid. The synthetic resin preferably is a styrene/(meth)acrylic ester copolymer or a (meth)acrylic ester copolymer. The amount of the water-soluble or water-dispersible polyester preferably is in the range of 2-50 mass% of the amount of the synthetic resin. The water-based binder composition for paving emits no odor during working, is friendly to the environment, and is excellent in wearing resistance and water resistance. |
