abstract |
Disclosed is a flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition which is composed of a thermoplastic resin containing an organopolysiloxane and a phosphorus compound. This flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition is characterized in that the organopolysiloxane is a specific organopolysiloxane having a phenyl group, and the phosphorus compound is contained in an amount of 20-500 ppm, in terms of phosphorus element, relative to the thermoplastic resin composition. Also disclosed are a flame-retardant fiber using the flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition, a method for producing such a flame-retardant fiber, a silicone flame retardant for thermoplastic resins and a method for producing a silicone flame retardant for thermoplastic resins. The thermoplastic flame-retardant resin composition has excellent flame retardancy and drip inhibiting effect, and is suppressed in benzene generation during a forming process involving a heat treatment, while attaining satisfactory safety during production. |
