titleOfInvention Inspection device and method for irregular bone defects of dental implant
abstract An inspection device and method for irregular bone defects of dental implant, wherein it is a noninvasive inspection and evaluation method. The method makes use of sound vibration–exciting theory and the sound emitting and vibration exciting/receiving arrangements of detection probes to induce the relationship between the structural resonance frequency and bone defects status from the measured resonance frequency. By the fact that the frequency becomes smaller as the amount of the defects increases, and by using the difference of structural resonance frequencies measured by each pair of sound transducer/ micro-accelerometer from different directions, it will be well capable of identifying the amount, orientation, and depth of various types of irregular bone defects, so as to improve the deficiency of interpretation from the two dimensional image X-ray commonly used in clinics and improve the limitation of commercial resonance frequency measurement device that can only display the overall dental implant; thus assisting the doctor to adequately evaluate the matching and integration status of the dental implant and alveolar bone of the patient so that the post treatment of bone integration and reinforcement can be performed when necessary; therefore, the success rate of dental implantation can be increased.
