abstract A method for adaptive selection of Y/C separation is provided. The invention utilizes a fixed ratio of a frequency of a resampling signal to a pixel rate of an output signal during a resampling process of a video decoder in order to determine if a signal sampling is shifted. And, accordingly, an appropriate Y/C separation is selected and then performed, thus obtaining a better image quality.
