A video encoding method of generating a parallax-compensated image by performing image prediction between cameras by using parallax data between an already-encoded reference camera image and a target encoding camera image with respect to the already-encoded reference camera image, and encoding a differential image between the target encoding camera image and the parallax-compensated image. For each predetermined divisional unit of the differential image, one of a decoded differential image group obtained by decoding a differential image between each already-encoded camera image and corresponding parallax-compensated image and a decoded camera image group obtained by decoding each already-encoded camera image are selected as a target reference in accordance with presence/absence of parallax-compensated image of the same position, that is, whether the relevant pixel values of the parallax-compensated image are effective. |
