Disclosed is a rose characterized by containing a flavone and a delphinidin by a genetic recombination technique. Typically, the flavone and the delphinidin are produced by the expression of a flavone synthesis enzyme gene and a flavonoid 3',5'-hydroxylase gene, respectively, both introduced into the rose. The flavone synthesis enzyme gene may be one originated from a plant belonging to the family Scrophulariaceae, such as one originated from common snapdragon (Scrophulariaceae, Antirrhinum majus) and one originated from torenia (Scrophulariaceae, Torenia hybrida). The flavonoid 3',5'-hydroxylase gene may be one originated from pansy (Viola x wittrockiana) |
