Highly dispersible fine powder of alkaline earth metal carbonate |
abstract |
A highly dispersible fine powder of an alkaline earth metal carbonate which is a fine powder of an alkaline earth metal carbonate selected from the group consisting of barium carbonate, strontium carbonate, and calcium carbonate. It has an average primary-particle diameter, in terms of the average diameter of circles equivalent in area to the projected images of primary particles as determined by image analysis of an electron photomicrograph of the fine powder, of 30-90 nm. It has a cumulative pore volume concerning pores having a pore diameter of 10-20 nm of 5OE0 < -2 > cm < 3 > /g or larger. The powder is fine. It can be dispersed into primary particles or nearly primary fine particles in an aqueous medium by an industrially highly practical dispersion method. |
