abstract | This invention is to provide an LED element and method of making the same by which the light extraction efficiency of the LED can be increased. In this invention, a substrate is etched to form grooves with natural lattice inclines, and an LED epitaxy layer is selectively formed in the grooves to provide an LED element with multi-edge inclines. Therefore, the total reflection in the LED element can be prevented by the multi-edge inclines, largely increasing the light extraction efficiency of the LED. |
