abstract The present invention relates to a cyclohexenones compound extracted from Antrodia camphorata for suppressing hepatitis B virus (HBV), especially the 4-hydroxy-2, 3-dimethoxy-6-methy-5[3,7,11-trimethyl-dodeca-2,6,10-trienyl]-cyclohex-2-enone, extracted and separated from Antrodia camphorate for effectively suppressing hepatitis B virus. In this invention, the cyclohexenones compound extracted from Antrodia camphorate is a cytotoxic for HepG2 2.2.15 of hepatitis B virus and is capable of reducing the amount of the hepatitis B virus and suppressing effectively hepatitis B HbsAg and hepatitis B HbeAg so as to achieve the purpose of suppressing hepatitis B virus.
