abstract |
Provided is a filter material formed of an extremely-elongated fiber non-woven fabric obtained by using a hydrophilic solvent to dissolve or elute a hydrosoluble thermoplastic resin from a composite long fiber non-woven fabric or no-woven web composed of said hydrosoluble thermoplastic resin and a water-insoluble thermoplastic resin, and leaving a part of said hydrosoluble thermoplastic resin, wherein an extremely-elongated fiber bundle having an average fiber diameter of 0.05 to 1.8μm takes an area percentage of 1 to 20%, and an extension strength (B) kgf/5cm in longitudinal direction and transversal direction of fabric with respect to an average weight per unit area (A) g/cm<SP>2</SP> satisfies the following formula. 100x(B)/(A) ≥ 5.0 This filter material has a high capturing ability and liquid-penetrating ability, and is suitable for liquid fuel filter material such as Diesel engine fuel filter material. |
