abstract An apparatus and a method for video de-interlace are disclosed. The apparatus includes a combing detection apparatus and a de-interlace form decision apparatus. The combing detection apparatus receives a plurality of continuous fields, does the combing detection for the plurality of continuous fields, and outputs a combing detection result. The de-interlace form decision apparatus receives the combing detection result, and compare the combing detection result with multiple models. When the combing detection result is conform to the specific model of the multiple models, the de-interlace form decision apparatus determines a specific de-interlace form in response to the specific model to de-interlace the plurality of continuous fields.
