abstract |
A liquid crystal display device having a high contrast ratio in a direction to the front is provided. The liquid crystal panel is provided with a liquid crystal cell, a first polarizing plate arranged on one side of the liquid crystal cell, and a second polarizing plate arranged on the other side of the liquid crystal cell. The transmittance (T1) of the first polarizing plate is higher than the transmittance (T2) of the second polarizing plate. Preferably, the difference (ΔT=T1-T2) between the transmittance (T1) of the first polarizing plate and the transmittance (T2) of the second polarizing plate is 0.1 to 6.0%. |
