abstract A novel method of operating a transmissive OASLM is described, in which writing light is applied to a doped liquid crystal layer after a precharge electrical pulse is applied. Then a reading beam is applied at the same time as an electrical potential is applied. The OASLM is described in the context of a holographic display.
