This invention provides a powder of anodic active substance, the powder being constituted by primary particles and an aggregate of primary particles and having an average particle size based on volume of 0.1 &,mgr;m or larger to 3 μm or smaller, wherein the ratio of the sum of the volume of the particles having 5 μm or more to the sum of the volume of all particles is 10% or less, and a BET specific surface area is from 2m<SP>2</SP>/g to 7 m<SP>2</SP>/g. When this anodic active substance is used in a non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery, the battery is capable of exhibiting a high discharging capacity and a high output at a high current rate. |
