abstract | The present invention relates to a process for producing radioisotope Tl-201, namely forming an electroplated target material as the Tl-203 solid target material from Tl-203 by an electroplating process, and irradiating the Tl-203 solid target material with a proton beam by using a cyclotron; dissolving the Tl-203 solid target material with a strong acid liquid to obtain a Pb-201 solution and a Tl-203 solution, then adding ammonia (NH3) and water to co-precipitate and to separate into a Tl-201 liquid and a Pb-201 liquid, afterwards adding hydrochloric acid (HCl) to proceed an ion exchange by using a resin, thereby filtering iron out from the Pb-201 liquid and moreover filtering and separating by a chemical separation of the first stage; taking the Pb-201 liquid out enabling to be decayed into a Tl-201 liquid; lastly, adding hydrochloric acid (HCl) having sulfur dioxide (SO2) to the Tl-201 liquid to proceed a chemical separation of the second stage and a second ion exchange by using a resin, so as to rapidly filter out a Tl-201 liquid with a higher purity. |
