titleOfInvention A topical formula for skin de-pigmentation
abstract This invention provides a topical formula for skin de-pigmentation. The said formula includes a new cosmetic ingredient, 1-Methyl-2-mercapto-imidazole, with weight percentage 50% or less; and optionally includes salicylic acid and its directives and/or ascorbic acid and its directives, with respective weight percentage 10% or less. 1-Methyl-2-mercapto-imidazole will function as melanin synthesis inhibitor and is of no cytotoxicity; while salicylic acid and ascorbic acid will reduce existing melanin to a lesser degree of pigmentation. Hence the topical formula of this invention is effective in skin de-pigmentation.
