Disclosed is to provide an inorganic phosphor emitting orange or red light having longer wavelength than wavelength of a conventional rare earth-activated sialon phosphor and having high luminance and being chemically stable. The inorganic phosphor emitting orange light having ≥ 570 nm wavelength and red light having ≥ 600 nm wavelength and rich in color-rendering properties is provided by preparing and setting each parameter expressed by a, b, c, d, e, f and g in the composition formula MaAbDcEdNeOfXg in a specific area in the design of the inorganic phosphor represented by the composition formula MaAbDcEdNeOfXg and composed of an activation element M (M is one or more kinds of elements selected from Mn, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu), a divalent element A (A is one or more kinds of elements selected from Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba), a trivalent element E (E is one or more kinds of elements selected from B, Al, Ga and In), a tetravalent element D (D is one or more kinds of elements selected from Si, Ge and Sn), nitrogen, oxygen (including a case not containing oxygen) and the other element X (including a case not containing X). |
