abstract |
For the purpose of improving the luminance and color rendering properties of a light-emitting device which comprises a phosphor as a wavelength conversion material and a semiconductor light-emitting element emitting visible light, there is used, as the phosphor, a mixture of two or more phosphors of one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of oxides, oxynitrides and nitrides. In this connection, the luminous efficiency of each phosphor in the mixture when it is excited by visible light from the semiconductor light-emitting element is not less than 35% at room temperature. In addition, the mixture contains a first phosphor and a second phosphor which is different from the first phosphor and absorbs the light emitted from the first phosphor, and the first phosphor is contained in an amount of 85% by weight relative to the mixture of the phosphors. |
