abstract This present invention provides a cleanser for hair styling agents which can effectively cleansing off hair styling agents and making hair smooth; this invention also provides a method of using such cleanser for hair styling agents. The cleanser for hair styling agents contains: (a) a component having an IOB value of 0.6-1.5 (b) a cationic polymer, and (c) a metal ion blocking agent : wherein the component having an IOB value of 0.6-1.5 is preferably one or more selected from a random type alkylene oxide derivative and a diethoxy ethyl succinate; the cationic polymer is preferably one or more selected from hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride-starch, cationized hydroxyethylcellulose-2, polyguatemium-39, and polyquaternium-7; and the metallic ion blocking agent is preferably one or more selected from hydroxyethane-diphosphonic acid, an edetate salt, and an N-acyl-ethylene diaminetriacetate salt. Moreover, the cleanser for hair styling agents preferably further contains citric acid and triethanolamine.
