abstract To make it possible to take a refill out of the rear end of the barrel of a writing instrument, which delivers the refill by means of a rotary cam mechanism. The rotary cam mechanism comprises a cam tube, a rotary cam, and a knocking cam. A stopper in the state of a detent is fixed in a barrel. A cam tube is inserted in this stopper. Engaging projections provided on the cam tube are engaged with the engaging holes of the stopper. In this case, the engagement can be disengaged by rotating the cam tube. A push-button part is connected with the cam tube axially movably and impossibly rotatably. Since the cam tube disengages from the stopper by rotating the push button part, the cam tube and the push-button part can be drawn out of the rear end of the barrel, resulting in enabling to take the refill in the barrel out of the rear end of the barrel.
