abstract | A process for producing a coated sheet, in which while resolving streaked defects occurring on the center of coating film, a coating film of reduced film thickness fluctuation can be stably produced on especially a base material film of large area; an optical function layer produced by the process; and utilizing the same, an optical film and image display apparatus. There is provided a process characterized in that the Re number in piping for introduction of a coating liquid into a die is less than 25. Further, the process is characterized in that the pressure at supply port of a coating liquid for introduction into a die is in the range of 0.5 to 5 kPa. It is preferred that the viscosity of coating liquid be in the range of 1 to 10 mPa.s. It is also preferred that the step of applying a coating liquid onto the surface of a support be followed by a step of drying the applied coating liquid and that the thickness of coating film after the drying be in the range of 1 to 20 μm. |
