abstract The present invention provides a heating unit to satisfactorily heat material while inhibiting heat conduction to a heating container and beat deformation by heat of reaction. The heating unit 1 has a case 10 having an aperture 12, a moisture proof sheet 50 sealing the aperture 12, a water absorption sheet 20 accommodated so as to cover the entire inside of the case 10, a water bag 30 accommodated in the water absorption sheet 20, a heating agent 40 accommodated in the water absorption sheet 20 which generates heat by a hydration reaction, and a rupture string 70 for rupturing the water bag 30 and the moisture proof sheet 50, wherein one end of the rupture string 70 is fixed on the water absorption sheet 20 and the other end is pulled out the outside of the case 10 through a non-water packed part of the water bag 30.
