abstract | This invention is to provide a preparing method of catalytic activated carbon for treatment of phenol and phenolic wastewater. The waste coconut is to utilize as raw materials of activated carbon. After pretreatment process, the waste coconuts were immersed into FeSO4 solution to ensure the iron can be penetrated into the fiber structure of coconuts. Then, the immersed coconuts were activated with heat cracking process with a suitable condition and then cooling to obtain the final catalytic activated carbon. Using H2O2 as oxidant, the catalytic activated carbon can be utilized to treat phenol and phenolic wastewater with adsorption and oxidation mechanism in oxidation reactor. The final products of phenol and phenolic compound oxidation were water and CO2. |
