titleOfInvention | Antimicrobial contact lenses and methods for their production |
abstract | This invention relates to a method for forming antimicrobial lenses comprising silver and a ligand monomer comprising: (a) curing a reavtive monomer mixture comprising at least one lens forming component and at least one ligand monomer under conditions sufficient to provide a reactivity ratio of the ligand monomer to at least one major lens forming component of at least about 0.45; and (b) treating said lens with a silver solution to forming an anti- microbial lens comprising silver in an amount which is at least about 80% of target silver concentration. |
