abstract To provide an optically recording medium capable of forming a visible image with high contrast by using a laser light onto an imaging recording layer on an surface opposed to recording layer. An optically recording medium characterized in that it is an optically recording medium having a recording layer capable of recording and reproducing information by irradiating a laser light, and having an image recording layer capable of recording a visible image on a surface opposed to the side of the aforesaid recording layer, in which the aforesaid image recording layer comprises a colorant as a main component, has a maximum light-adsorption peak at the light wave of a range of 450~650nm and has an light-adsorptive degree of more than 0.05 with respect to a laser light at any one wave band of 350~450nm, 600~700nm and 750~850nm.
