abstract The present invention provides a composition which is in the form of solid body and which comprises a mixture including the following components:(a) 40%~100% of calcium sulfate hemihydrate; and (b) 0~60% of at least a calcium-containing compound selected from the group consisting of: anhydrous calcium sulfate, calcium sulfate monohydrate, calcium sulfate dihydrate, calcium carbonate, calcium and phosphous-containing compounds and a combination thereof, wherein at least a portion of the outer surface of said composition in the form of solid body has been contacted with an aqueous solution such that the calcium-containing compound contained within the at least a portion of the outer surface of said composition in the form of solid body is in a hydrated state.
