titleOfInvention Electroluminescence display device
abstract This invention provides an electroluminescence display device which avoids, as much as possible, a color-mixing caused by a white color light leakage, so as to prevent the purity of each color of RGB from deteriorating. A TFT (101) for driving an organic EL element is formed on an insulation substrate (100). A first planarizing insulation film (102) is formed to cover the TFT (101). A color filter layer (103) is buried in the first planarizing insulation film (102). An anode layer (104) is connected to the TFT (101) and extends on the first planarizing insulation film (102). A second planarizing insulation film (105) is formed to cover the edges of the anode layer (104). The color filter layer (103) and the second planarizing insulation film (105) are overlapped by a distance A which is larger than the sum B of the thickness of the anode layer (104) and the thickness of the first planarizing insulation (102). By this arrangement, most of the light emitted from an organic EL layer (106) is caused to pass through the inner part of color filter layer (103).
