Luminophors and an optical device using the same |
abstract |
Luminophors for converting the ultraviolet or blue emission of a light-emitting element to visible white light with very high colour rendering and an optical device using the same. The invention relates to luminophors for converting the ultraviolet or blue emission of a light-emitting element to visible white radiation with very high colour rendering and an Ra of up to 99. The luminophors comprise an emitting component formed from solid state systems of alkaline earth metal antimonates and derived systems such as fluoroantimonates which have an intrinsic red luminescence, or from manganese (IV)-activated oxygen-dominated luminophor systems, or from europium-activated silicate-germanates or systems in which a sensitizer from the group of Eu (II) and, as a secondary activator, Mn (II) are used and having an orange or orange-red or red or deep red colour in the spectral region above 600 nm, or from a mixture of up to 8 luminophor components having different emission bands whose overlapping generates a broad emission continuum between about 380 nm and 780 nm having colour temperatures between about 10000 K with a blue-white colour and 6500 K with a daylight colour and a colour temperature of about 3000 K with a warm white colour down to a colour temperature of 2000 K with a reddish-yellow evening light colour. The field of application of the invention is the optoelectronic semiconductor technology and the lighting technology. The site of use of these white-light-emitting elements comprising the luminophors according to the invention is in particular anywhere where colour rendering very true to the original is important. |
