This invention is to provide a substrate for an optical compensation film capable of improving the durability of a viewing angle compensation function, and to provide an optical compensation film, a viewing angle compensation integrated type polarizer and a liquid crystal display device. In this substrate for an optical compensation film, photoelastic coefficients C(md), C(td) in the longitudinal and lateral directions of a cellulose film are 1x10<SP>-9</SP> to 1x10<SP>-13</SP>Pa<SP>-1</SP>, and C(md)<C(td); a dimensional variation ratios S(md), S(td) before and after 50 hour-treatment at 80 DEG C, 90% RH in each direction are -1 to 1% and |S(md)| > |S(td)| , and R0 of following equation (I) is 20 to 70 nm and Rt of following equation (II) is 70 to 400 nm: (I) R0=(nx-ny)*d, (II) Rt=((nx+ny)/2-nz)*d. |
