abstract | When an input signal is an interlace signal such as an NTSC signal, the portion of the input signal containing a high amount of vertical frequency components contains a flicker interference as a reactive interference caused by a sampling principle. Such interference components cause a change in the graduation in each frame. Thus, in a conventional signal processing for improving the speed of change of the graduation by raising the liquid crystal driving voltage at the change of graduation over the normal liquid crystal driving voltage to raise the response speed of a liquid crystal panel, the above said interference component is also enhanced. In other words, the quality of the image displayed by the liquid crystal panel is deteriorated. The present invention provides a new method and device wherein the speed of change of the graduation is increased for the portion of an input signal free from flicker interference, and the speed of change of the graduation is varied for the portion of the input signal containing a flicker interference so as to suppress the flicker. |
