abstract A remedy for fibromyalgia containing an extract of a tissue suffering from vaccinia virus inoculation-induced inflammation as the active ingredient, use of the extract of a tissue suffering from vaccinia virus inoculation-induced inflammation as the active ingredient for producing a medicinal composition for treating fibromyalgia, and a method of treating fibromyalgia which comprises administering a medicinal composition containing the extract of a tissue suffering from vaccinia virus inoculation-induced inflammation as the active ingredient to a patient. The remedy containing the extract of a tissue suffering from vaccinia virus inoculation-induced inflammation as the active ingredient is a novel remedy for fibromyalgia no efficacious remedy for which has been known so far. Moreover, it is highly useful as a highly safe and potent drug with scarcely any side effects.
