titleOfInvention Grafted copolymer of syndiotactic styrene (sPS) and method for producing the same
abstract The present invention relates to a grafted copolymer of syndiotactic styrene (sPS) and a method for producing the same. The present invention provides a new grafted copolymer having sPS as its main chain structure and having grafted branch chain segments containing polar functional groups. Compared to a conventional sPS material, a new grafted copolymer according to the present invention has a better compatibility with other polymer materials. Moreover, a grafted copolymer according to the present invention can be used as a compatibilizer with other polymer and used as a polymer blending agent in order to improve over the problem of a poor compatibility with other polymer for a conventional sPS material. Meanwhile, when the invented grafted copolymer is used as a co-plasticization agent with other polymer, the resulting polymer chains have better impact resistance and elongation, while maintaining the excellent physical properties of the original sPS material in the mixed polymer chains.
