abstract The present invention provides an acrylic adhesive for optical member and an optical member using the same. The acrylic adhesive not only relaxes the stress caused by dimensional change in a member such as a polarized film, a phase contrast film or an elliptically polarized film, especially the film having a large applied area, but also prevents stripping and foaming, controls irregular color caused by light leakage, and shorts the aging time. The adhesive is obtained by cross-linking reaction an adhesive composition composed of an acrylic polymer and an isocyanate compound, and the gel fraction of the adhesive after cross-linking reaction is 1% to 50%. The acrylic polymer is a copolymer of monomer compound containing 100 parts by weight of alkyl (metha)acrylate, 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of monomer containing hydroxy groups and 0.05 to 3 parts by weight of monomer containing specific functional groups, and has a molecular weight between 500000 and 2000000 based on GPC (gel-permeation chromatography). The optical member is produced by forming an adhesive layer of such adhesive either on one side or both sides of a carrier such as a polarized film, a phase contrast film, an elliptically polarized film and the like.
