abstract In the invention there is provided a conjugate having a targeting group (T) with a clamped fluorochrome group (F). The F group is represented by formula (I) and the targeting group (T) is characterized by affinity to a tumor marker, for example an antibody or antibody fragment. The conjugate can be used in the diagnosis of tumors, including photodetection of tumor nodules during resection surgery.
